Abbey of Mont Saint-Michel

Mont Saint-Michel is a breathtaking medieval island commune in Normandy, France, famous for its magnificent abbey rising dramatically above the surrounding bay. Once a strategic fortress and an important pilgrimage destination, it has stood at the meeting point of land, sea, and sky for centuries. The island is surrounded by vast tidal flats, and the landscape changes dramatically with the tides.
